Are your pieces handmade?
Yes. Each Custom Canela Crafts piece is individually built, engraved, sanded, finished, and inspected in my workshop. Because I work with real wood, natural variations in grain and color make every piece unique.
Do you accept custom orders?
Yes. Custom orders are a big part of what I do. Depending on the project, I can personalize pieces with names, dates, messages, photographs, artwork, or other design ideas. Use the Custom Orders page or Contact page to get started.
Can you create an engraving from my photograph?
Yes. Many designs can be created from customer-supplied photographs. Clear, high-resolution photos with good lighting generally produce the best results. I will review your image to determine whether it is suitable for the requested piece.
Will my finished piece look exactly like the product photos?
The overall design and craftsmanship will be consistent, but no two pieces of natural wood are identical. Grain patterns, color, knots, and other natural characteristics will vary. These differences are part of what makes each piece unique.
What types of wood do you use?
I use a variety of woods depending on the design, including walnut, maple, cherry, purpleheart, cedar, and other distinctive species. The woods used for a particular item will be listed in its product description.
What is the difference between Ready to Ship and Made to Order?
Ready-to-ship pieces are already completed and available for purchase. Made-to-order and personalized pieces are created after your order is placed and require additional production time.
How long will my order take?
Processing time depends on the item and level of customization. The estimated processing time for each product will be shown on its product page. Custom projects may require additional time depending on the design.
Will I see my personalized design before it is made?
When a custom design requires artwork preparation or significant personalization, I may provide a design proof for approval before engraving. Simple personalization may not require a proof.
Can I request something that isn't currently listed?
Absolutely. If you have an idea for a piece you don't see in the shop, contact me. I'll let you know whether it's something I can create.
How should I care for my piece?
Care depends on the type of product and finish. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, excessive heat, and harsh cleaning chemicals unless the product instructions specifically state otherwise. Any special care instructions will be included with the product when applicable.
